Please bring in you permission form for D2L! Also, your novel needs to be completed by the end of the week.

Today, I am not able to be in class with you. It is a short day schedule (class is 1 hour).

Start by reading your independent novels for 20 min and tracking your reading. You should be finishing your book this week!

Get a laptop to check the tracking sheet. Work on overdue items. Any paper copies can be put in the basket on the table by the door. Digital work needs to be submitted through the website.

Tomorrow we will continue with the our research on reconciliation. Please have you topic/area of interest chosen.

We will read and track our reading. You should be finished your first book by the end of next week!

In order to really think about our reading, we will write to think. Choose a prompt from the “Tracking your thinking over the course of a book,” and write a paragraph. Once finished, revise your work based on the anchor chart in class.

We will break into our groups. While you are working on the assignments below, I will be conferencing with individuals.

Students with devices: Group 3

  1. Check the tracking sheet (email). Leave a comment for items you have completed.
  2. Add a thank you to the padlet.
  3.  Finish your handshake (and post on D2L) and comment on other posts. See me for login information.
  4. Add a snap to for each of your 4 goals for the semester that explains your plans for each goal.
  5. Wiki editing. Submit your Editing Sheet to the class bin.

Today I am in the building, but not in the class.

We need to share one cart between two classes. This means that we have 10 devices every day.

We will all read and track our reading every day. Then some of us will work on devices and some of us will work on our reading and writing.

Read your independent novel for 20 mins.

Those on devices: (2 Tables closest to window)

1) Update your reading tracking sheet. Make sure you add in all the pages read since the last time you updated it.

2) Go to the assignment tracking sheet to see what you should have done by now. (Bookmark this page!)

3) Work on your Global Perspectives editing. Use this sheet to guide you. When you are done, submit the sheet via the Assignment Submission page (found on this blog).

Remember, when using online docs, make a copy of the document so that you can write on it. (Go to “FILE” and “MAKE A COPY”

4) Choose a second page to edit. Review the sign-up sheet to be sure no one else has chosen the same page.

Those without devices:

1) Update your reading tracking sheet. Make sure you add in all the pages read since the last time you updated it.

2) Complete Reading Log #1 (Handout)

3) Write: Prompt #1 (Handout)
